You don’t need oil in your engine to start it either - it’s just a really good idea.
It is a definite fact that my brain doesn’t fire on all cylinders till it’s had hot water poured over it and hot coffee poured into it.

Same here, I work better with a coffee soon as I get to work

Yeah, sleeping through the alarm has taught me that a hot shower is at least as important as caffeine in the morning. If I don’t get one, I feel groggy and tired all day, regardless of how much coffee I drink.

Sly way of saying you prefer Kenyan over Colombian or any others.

Im glad Im not the only one.
Im to the point that if I take a shower in the evening, I will be staying up late that night because to my brain, its a wake up signal.

Yep, exactly the same - I’ve done that if I’ve been working in the yard and don’t want to get the bed all smelly, and then can’t sleep.
Probably mental conditioning, keep to the same schedule long enough and your body starts to think “shower” = “morning, time to be awake”.

Some woman ran the Pikes Peak ascent barefoot. She was regretting it when I passed her. That race hurts plenty with shoes on.

It feels like coffee is to me what petrol is to my car, I'm not going anywhere without it.

When was the last time any world record in running was set by somebody who was barefoot?
Or are you trying to imply people would be better in the morning if they gave up coffee?
I’m not giving up my running shoes and I’m definitely not giving up my coffee.

Starting to drink coffee was the worst thing I’ve ever done. I didn’t need it, and then started drinking it regularly, and now I’m fully addicted.
